Here at ECU Doctor we specialise in fixing engine control units. Our ECU Services include the examination, testing and rebuilding of ECUs, or more often supplying trial exchange units.

When possible we like to test and rebuild the original ECU. However with modern advancements in ECU technology it’s becoming more appropriate to supply a trial exchange engine control unit.

In the event of a trial exchange, the customer sends in their suspect unit. We transfer the vehicle identity and security data onto the trial unit and return on a 14 day basis.

If the vehicle problem or issue is resolved, then the unit is kept as it arrives with 12 month warranty paperwork.

If there is no difference with our trial unit, then it should be returned to us within 14 days. Will shall reinstate the vehicle and security back onto the customer’s original unit in our workshop and return with a refund less restock fee.

In our workshop we have the equipment, trained staff and expertise to deal with an extensive range of European and Japanese vehicles. In addition, we are investing in equipment and training to be able to serve the expanding diesel market.

At this present time, the lab is unable to work on motorcycle and scooter management systems. Gearbox and ABS control units also are excluded from our specialised test and rebuild work.

We always aim for the shortest possible turnaround time of your Engine Control unit, with no compromise on quality of work. The turnaround time expected would be in the order of 2 – 3 working days unless advised otherwise.

However, on the occasions when we need to order an exchange unit, specialised components or the availability of parts necessitates some delay. We kindly request that customers please keep the above in mind.

The rebuilt or replacement unit will carry our warranty seal with a serial number. Your peace of mind is assured with a 12 month no-quibble guarantee extending to any new owner of that vehicle. This is our team commitment to quality customer care.
